Accessibility Statement

Accessibility Statement

Effective Date: June 13, 2026
Last Updated: June 13, 2026

Sacred Sobriety is committed to making its website, resources, and faith-based recovery content accessible to as many people as reasonably possible, including visitors with disabilities.

This Accessibility Statement applies to sacred-sobriety.com.

1. Our Commitment

Sacred Sobriety believes that devotional, educational, spiritual, and recovery-support content should be available without unnecessary barriers.

We are working to provide a website that is:

  • Understandable
  • Navigable
  • Readable
  • Compatible with commonly used assistive technologies
  • Usable on desktop and mobile devices
  • Respectful of visitors with different visual, hearing, motor, cognitive, neurological, and learning needs

Accessibility is an ongoing effort rather than a one-time project. The website may not yet be fully accessible in every area, but reasonable efforts will be made to identify and address barriers as the site develops.

2. Accessibility Standards

Sacred Sobriety seeks to follow recognized accessibility practices and the general principles of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines published by the World Wide Web Consortium.

These principles encourage digital content to be:

  • Perceivable
  • Operable
  • Understandable
  • Robust

Sacred Sobriety has not undergone a comprehensive independent accessibility audit and does not claim complete conformance with a particular accessibility standard or legal requirement.

3. Accessibility Measures

Sacred Sobriety aims to improve accessibility through practices such as:

  • Using clear and descriptive page titles
  • Organizing content with meaningful headings
  • Writing in clear and understandable language
  • Providing descriptive alternative text for meaningful images when practical
  • Avoiding text embedded in images when the information can also be provided as regular text
  • Using readable font sizes
  • Maintaining reasonable contrast between text and backgrounds
  • Providing descriptive link text
  • Supporting keyboard navigation through the WordPress platform and selected theme
  • Avoiding unnecessary flashing, movement, or distracting animation
  • Using captions, transcripts, or written summaries for video and audio content when practical
  • Structuring articles so that they can be read with screen readers and other assistive technologies
  • Reviewing new pages and resources for obvious accessibility barriers
  • Correcting reported accessibility problems when reasonably possible

4. WordPress and Third-Party Technology

Sacred Sobriety is built and operated using WordPress and related services.

Some accessibility features depend on:

  • The WordPress platform
  • The active WordPress theme
  • Installed plugins
  • Jetpack
  • Embedded media
  • External websites
  • Social-media platforms
  • Video and audio players
  • Affiliate services
  • Browser and device compatibility

Sacred Sobriety seeks to select and configure these services responsibly. However, some technical elements are created or controlled by third parties and may not be fully adjustable by Sacred Sobriety.

WordPress provides tools and platform features intended to support accessible publishing, but the accessibility of an individual WordPress website also depends on the site owner’s theme, plugins, configuration, and content practices.

5. Images and Graphics

Sacred Sobriety may use:

  • Featured images
  • Infographics
  • Scripture graphics
  • YouTube thumbnails
  • Logos
  • Decorative images
  • Photographs
  • Social-media graphics
  • Illustrations

Meaningful images should include alternative text or surrounding text that communicates their essential purpose when practical.

Decorative images may use empty alternative text so that assistive technologies can skip them.

Some older images or migrated content may not yet contain complete alternative text. Sacred Sobriety intends to improve these materials as they are reviewed and updated.

Infographics and graphics containing substantial text may not be fully accessible to every screen reader. When practical, the primary information contained in a graphic will also be provided in the accompanying article, caption, description, or transcript.

6. Video and Audio Content

Sacred Sobriety may publish or embed:

  • YouTube videos
  • Livestream recordings
  • Podcasts
  • Audio devotionals
  • Interviews
  • Sermons
  • Recovery discussions
  • Social-media video content

Efforts may be made to provide captions, transcripts, summaries, or accompanying written content when practical.

Some older, live, embedded, or third-party media may not have complete or fully accurate captions or transcripts.

Automatically generated captions may contain errors, particularly with:

  • Scripture references
  • Theological terminology
  • Names
  • Recovery terminology
  • Specialized language

Visitors who need assistance accessing the substance of a particular video or audio resource may contact Sacred Sobriety.

7. Keyboard Navigation

The website is intended to support navigation by keyboard through the functionality provided by WordPress, the active theme, and installed services.

Some embedded media, menus, forms, popups, or third-party features may not behave consistently with all keyboard-navigation methods.

Visitors who encounter a keyboard trap, inaccessible menu, missing focus indicator, or other navigation problem are encouraged to report it.

8. Text Size and Display

Most modern browsers allow visitors to:

  • Increase or decrease text size
  • Zoom page content
  • Change contrast settings
  • Use reading modes
  • Apply custom fonts or style settings
  • Use browser extensions or assistive tools

Sacred Sobriety attempts to use layouts that remain readable when text is enlarged. Some graphics, tables, embedded content, or mobile layouts may not resize perfectly in every browser or device.

9. Color and Contrast

Sacred Sobriety uses a visual identity that may include:

  • Midnight blue
  • Metallic gold
  • Metallic silver
  • Cobalt blue
  • Burnt orange
  • Deep red
  • Soft yellow

Efforts will be made to maintain readable contrast between text and its background and to avoid relying on color alone to communicate essential information.

Some decorative graphics, historical images, logos, or embedded third-party elements may not meet the same contrast goals.

10. Plain Language and Content Structure

Sacred Sobriety addresses subjects that may involve theology, Scripture, addiction recovery, trauma, emotional sobriety, and personal growth.

Although some topics require specialized terminology, efforts will be made to:

  • Define unfamiliar terms
  • Use clear headings
  • Break long content into readable sections
  • Avoid unnecessarily complicated language
  • Explain acronyms and abbreviations
  • Present important information in a logical order

Visitors may contact Sacred Sobriety when they need clarification or an alternative explanation of particular content.

11. Forms and Subscriptions

Sacred Sobriety may use WordPress and Jetpack subscription features.

Forms and subscription features should include understandable instructions and labels when supported by the platform.

Sacred Sobriety does not currently operate public contact or prayer-request forms.

Visitors who are unable to use a subscription or other website feature may contact Sacred Sobriety by email.

12. External and Embedded Content

The website may link to or embed content from services such as:

  • YouTube
  • Facebook
  • Instagram
  • TikTok
  • X
  • Spotify
  • Podbean
  • Amazon
  • WordPress.com
  • Jetpack
  • Gravatar

Sacred Sobriety does not control the accessibility of third-party websites, applications, advertisements, product listings, media players, or embedded content.

A link to an external resource does not guarantee that the external website will be accessible.

Visitors experiencing difficulty with third-party content may contact the relevant provider directly or ask Sacred Sobriety whether the essential information is available in another format.

13. Documents and Downloads

Sacred Sobriety may eventually provide downloadable materials such as:

  • PDF devotionals
  • Study guides
  • Journals
  • Worksheets
  • Reflection prompts
  • Ebooks
  • Printable resources

Efforts will be made to create documents with readable text, meaningful headings, logical reading order, and descriptive links when practical.

Some older, scanned, image-based, or third-party documents may not be fully compatible with screen readers or other assistive technologies.

Visitors who cannot access a document may request an alternative version when reasonably available.

14. Known and Potential Limitations

Despite ongoing efforts, visitors may encounter accessibility barriers involving:

  • Older posts migrated from another website
  • Missing or incomplete image descriptions
  • Graphics containing text
  • Automatically generated video captions
  • Embedded third-party media
  • Social-media content
  • Affiliate product listings
  • PDF documents
  • Theme or plugin behavior
  • Keyboard focus
  • Mobile display
  • Color contrast
  • Archived content
  • External links

Sacred Sobriety intends to address significant barriers as they are identified and as time, technology, and available resources permit.

15. Requesting Assistance

Visitors who cannot access content or complete a website action may request reasonable assistance or an alternative format.

Please contact:

Use the subject line:

When possible, include:

  • The page title
  • The page URL
  • A description of the difficulty
  • The device and browser being used
  • The assistive technology being used, when relevant
  • The format or assistance that would be helpful

You are not required to disclose a diagnosis or private medical information when reporting an accessibility problem.

Sacred Sobriety will make a reasonable effort to review the request and provide assistance or an alternative when reasonably possible.

16. Reporting an Accessibility Barrier

Accessibility feedback is welcome.

To report a barrier, contact:

Use the subject line:

Accessibility Issue

Please identify:

  • The affected page or feature
  • What you attempted to do
  • What prevented access
  • Any error message received
  • The browser or device involved
  • Any suggested correction, if known

Reports will be considered in good faith and used to guide future improvements.

17. Response to Feedback

Sacred Sobriety will make a reasonable effort to:

  • Acknowledge accessibility concerns
  • Review the reported problem
  • Determine whether a practical correction is available
  • Provide the requested information in another format when reasonably possible
  • Update content or website settings when appropriate
  • Communicate any known limitation that cannot immediately be corrected

The time and method required to address an issue may depend on its complexity and whether it involves WordPress, a theme, a plugin, embedded media, or another third-party service.

18. No Guarantee of Universal Compatibility

Sacred Sobriety cannot guarantee that every page, feature, file, or third-party service will work with every:

  • Browser
  • Operating system
  • Mobile device
  • Screen reader
  • Voice-control tool
  • Keyboard configuration
  • Magnification tool
  • Accessibility extension
  • Assistive technology

Accessibility experiences may vary because of differences in technology, settings, software versions, and third-party systems.

19. Ongoing Improvement

Sacred Sobriety views accessibility as part of responsible ministry, communication, and hospitality.

As the website is revived and content is migrated, efforts may include:

  • Reviewing older posts
  • Improving heading structures
  • Adding missing alternative text
  • Correcting unclear link text
  • Reviewing color contrast
  • Improving captions or transcripts
  • Replacing inaccessible documents
  • Simplifying navigation
  • Testing pages on different devices
  • Responding to visitor feedback

Priorities may be based on the severity of a barrier, the importance of the affected content, the number of visitors affected, and the resources available.

20. Changes to This Statement

Sacred Sobriety may update this Accessibility Statement as website features, themes, plugins, content practices, accessibility standards, or available resources change.

The current version will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
